Favorite movie of 2009
Which is yours?
Personally I think I'd say A Serious Man by the Coen brothers. I've always enjoyed their movies, and this just took their understated, dark humor and twisted storylines to another level.
Michael Stuhlbarg's performance as the protagonist, Larry, was unbelievable, and the rest of the cast are phenomenal too. The movie gives you something to think about as you leave the theater, and that's always a good thing. It's not a new No Country For Old Men by far, but this is even better in my book.
So, how about you?

Re: Favorite movie of 2009
There were several films that I really enjoyed. But my favorite of 2009 has to be The Dark Knight. I loved it. Heath Ledger played batshit crazy to a tee. Made the Joker what he should be.

Technically, The Dark Knight is a 2008 flick.
I still agree though, it was an awesome movie. Hands down the best comic-adaptation I've seen. And yeah, Ledger nailed the part. Good thing he got his oscar, only too bad we won't get to see him knock one out of the ballpark like that again.
Just saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which was his last movie. Weird experience.

Re: Favorite movie of 2009
I must honestly admit that I didn't go to a cinema in 2009, and because of the #^*&@* internet policies here in Switzerland, I cannot download anything either. Well, technically I can, but it just takes a little longer...
