Gamestrafe gone, VE forums reset

The Gamestrafe forums are dead. They no longer exist. Farewell gamestrafe pub and farewell fever gaming. No more sharing knowledge and experiences with BF2142 or just chatting with the infamous panda, DV, Knife, etc.

And to make things worse: the VE forums were reset a couple of weeks ago, and also there all the epic old threads were deleted. Luckily the forums still exist, but we now have to build up a whole new epic thread database.

I'm glad our forums still exist and are working fine.

What is Gamestrafe?

It's the forums that Ashen, Gnome, Agon and some others know eachother from. We had a great pub going there, with real epic characters and posts. Before is was called "Gamestrafe", is was called "Fever Gaming". It was a forum focused on games, and it had seperate sections for different games. The pub was where everyone just spemmed and discussed and posted anything that came to mind. The gaming sections where more "serious", e.g. tips and tricks, support, clans and discussion forums.

We originally started our alliance as the "Gamestrafe Alliance", with only or mostly members from the gamestarfe forums. We changed to Pandemic when we got more non-gamestrafe memebrs, and we created our own seperate CN forums than as well.

The gamestrafe forums went down several weeks ago, I don't know why. I'm glad that we still have some people coming here.

yeah i noticed they disappeared also. so sad, esp. with l4d2 out and BF:BC2 coming out soon.

is there a new set of forums everyone chats on now, or has everyone gone their separate ways?

I use these here, and I try to talk about pub-stuff in the VE off topic forum. But overall, I think many people have moved on (including myself)

I am so busy that my pubness is vastly random and my time is nearly none. I haven't spent any serious time gaming in 4 months and only did that for a week, before that it had been four more months. Hopefull after next week I'll have about three weeks to get thrashed again.

I just got myself CoD 2 Modern Warfare (finished the single player in 2 evenings, now trying the muliplayer, currently level 11 in 2 more evenings). I would like to chath about that more, though, but without Gamestrafe, I don't know where to go...

Yeah, fortunately xfire and Steam help me keep tabs on peeps.
But my schedule has knocked me out of gaming until this week. Only about 10 days left of Gem Time until January Term starts. I'll get in what I can.

Should get some other forum running. This forum now shows up as first result for Gamestrafe . Seems like it's been down a lot longer than a month. Shame all those posts have gone :/

Well, this forum can be expanded in pretty much any manner you please.
If gamestrafers and fevergamers continue to stick around here, I don't see why we couldn't expand to include some gaming.

One major advantage here would be that we don't have to wait for Simons nazi rule. We can create subforums as we like.

And yes, I realize that I'm not exactly amongst the most active here myself.

I'm all for having this be a multi-purpose site. I say we poll it to the general members and if they agree we expand the bbs roles in a duality. We can create many of the same or similar subs, plus for those who still play CN it might bring us more members in-game.

I will think about it over the holidays, and we may create a spin-off from our forums here with the possibility to create threads about other specific subjects or interests. Whether that be a new forum, or some add-on to this one, I don't know yet.
