Starbucks - a rant
Forgot mentioning of Starbucks in the quotes thread got me thinking, but I didn't want to ruin the quoting line by writing tooo much, so I'll just rant here instead.
This starbucks phenomenon seems so exotic to us here in Denmark, since we don't have a single one here. So recently when I was in London and saw one, I had to go.
WORST CUP OF COFFEE EVER - and worst coffee-purchasing-experience ever.
I wanted to KILL the person on the other side of the counter for asking sooo many questions before I ended up with a cup of semiroastedbrazildoubleshotcostabravamoccamoccalowfatmilkfoam (yeah, that's made up, but the sad part is the actual starbucks names are even more stupid).
Apparently "I-don't-care" isn't a blend starbucks personel is familiar with. And the words "you decide" seem to be the cryptonite for starbucks employees.
I actually ended up throwing away the entire cup. It was awful. Maybe my coffee-tastebuds are just severely lacking, or maybe I just ended up picking the wrong variety - which you can't really blame me considering the ridiculous possibilities. You know, sometimes freedom to choose isn't a gift. It's a curse.
"Hello. One coffee."
"Would you like milk or sugar?"
"No."
"There you are sir."
That's how an order for coffee should go.
One last thing. Recently a customer satisfaction survey was done in Copenhagen airport. People were generally very pleased with every aspect of the airport, but one major issue bothered a vast majority of foreign visitors.
Now, I've been to Copenhagen Airport, so I know this for a fact. You can buy coffee there. Good coffee. From a large selection of shops, diners and restaurants.
Yet the single issue where Copenhagen Airport fell short among international travelers was... you guessed it... "No Starbucks".
Having tasted and experienced it I think I can safely say that they put crack in the joe. That's the only way to explain such addiction.

Ah. It's been a while since I've ranted. I feel so... relaxed now.
Maybe we can make this therapeutic?
Post your rants here, for instant stress-relief!

Re: Starbucks - a rant
I dunno. I went to a Starbucks in Berlin once (they're pretty scarce in Holland as well, only one I know is in Schiphol Airport) and I don't drink coffee. So I asked the girl what the strongest thing was and ordered a double of that. There really wasn't any hassle...

Starbucks = Passable but so overpriced.
I am surprised that there aren't any in Denmark seeing as here in the UK, it is impossible to walk through any major city for 10 minutes without passing like 5 of them.
