Last week we began repainting our house in preparation for selling it. While doing this we repainted the ceilings in the living room and kitchen. In the living room we have those decorative beams that grid the ceiling. As we began peeling the tape off of them we found that paint had managed to get around the tape in certain spots and has dried to the wooden beams. It looks kinda shoddy.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to best remove these paint spots?

I am currently using a plastic scraper and already found that too much pressure mars the wood and doesn’t do much to remove the paint.

Liquid ammonia or white spirit may help. Although that usually only works if the paint is still wet. Or some other cleaning stuff.

Some people suggested the wood marker and some light sand paper. I think I'm going to give those a try.

Thanks guys!
